Luke and Abe are after a fast paced – MTV style edit for the titles. So I started by cut out the unneeded parts. (I first import the footage as a whole, play it back and then edit out the footage)
From there I start to cut them down even more, I have found to get the MTV style you need to cut out frames within the scene you are watching to give it a jumping affect also speeding up scenes adds to the look.
After editing the footage together in an untreated form it hit the 2 min mark so I decided to cut out parts that didn’t work and edited down to just less than 1 min.
The original footage I got was washed out in places or had a cream back ground, I know that Luke and Abe wanted to very clean look to the titles so I start with bleaching out the footage until the back ground was white.
Now because I have used a filter to turn the back ground white, I have lost some of the colours in the faces and cloths. So I add another filter and play around with the Saturation, Gamma and contrast until I’m happy with the colours.
After saving the edit as adobe premiere file, I loaded it up in after affects.
To carry on with the colouring, I also add a twitch affect to the transitions, a two layer vignette and a paper overlay.
